Digital Inheritance

SANS has a great article online this week concerning a subject we don’t think about very often. “What happens to our digital presence when we die or become incapacitated?” The industry does not have one blanket solution to accessing loved ones’ digital files or assets, each company or web site handles it differently. The biggest asset most of us have online these days are our pictures. We can no longer hand down the photo album or box of negatives. It is up to you to store family photos in a way others will be able to access later on. The article talks about password managers or sharing logins with trusted family members. Click below to read through, it’s a good place to start thinking about how you would like your family members to access your data.
